It’s easy to get stuck on the email content hamster wheel.
But when you plan the year ahead it will definitely give you more structure in your days. Also it will also help you avoid overloading your subscribers with needless emails and ultimately boost your revenue.
Your email marketing calendar maps out all the activities for your email subscribers to elicit action.
Just 5 simple steps!
Step 1
Decide where you want to be in 12 month with your email marketing. Put a number on it. Divide your yearly revenue goal by 12 to know your monthly revenue projection and add this number to your calendar for each month. If you have any subscriptions, add them too.
Step 2
Map out all your upcoming promotions in your calendar. If available, list your product launches into the appropriate month too. For each promotion add the revenue projection and write it in your calendar.
Step 3
Now take your monthly revenue (step 1) and subtract the revenue projection for your promos (step2). This is your remaining revenue needed to reach your goal. Write it in your calendar.
Step 4
This is where you get creative and use your genius brain. Brainstorm ideas for additional promotions to create the remaining revenue needed (step 3). Schedule the ideas you’re going to implement into your email marketing calendar.
Step 5
Finally, choose a theme for every month. You can choose a generic holiday topic but how about creating your own monthly themes to spark creativity and give your subscribers some inspiration. Schedule these emails into your calendar too.
A good approach to start is to send emails twice a month and then up it to weekly. If you’ve got great content your subscribers will love your emails.
